WMS Students See Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra

A group of WMS Jazz Band students attended a special "sound check" by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, March 9th at the Wells Fargo Center.  The LCJO is one of the world's premier Big Band Jazz Ensembles led by Wynton Marsalis, one of the world's best trumpet players.  After the sound check, the band's drummer, Ari Jackson, and trombonist, Vincent Gardner, talked to the students and answered their questions about music and performance.  Students who attended the "sound check" also received two free tickets to the show.  Many thanks to Tracy Sawyer and Chrystie Prokopakis of the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts Education Department for inviting the students.  What a wonderful opportunity!
